Painting In Vermont

Last Thursday night I received an email from painter Susan Renee Lammers. She said " I'm goint to Vermont to paint snow scenes. If you want to be in the car be ready by 10 am." It took me a bit of rescheduling. My husband offered to take on a couple of things I was supposed to attend to. Isn't he a good guy? He said "Go! You don't need to stay here. Go paint!" I am so happy I did.

We have been working very hard every day. Some days we do two paintings. When we first arrived there was a fair amount of snow but now most of the snow has melted. Yesterday Renee drove us up a dirt road that had turned all to mud with the warm temps. How we didn't get stuck I don't know. It was just like mud season in April.

Today we met up with another painter Karen Winslow who lives here in Jeffersonville. She and her husband are both painters. She had contacted Renee a couple of days ago and told us of a nice bed and breakfast to stay at and also good places to paint. She painted with us today even though she usually paints out only in summer. I think we have converted another woman to winter plein air painting!

We are hoping for some snow tonight.

Here are three of my paintings I have done this week.

Vermont January Thaw

6" x 6"

oil on panel

Waterville Vermont View

6" x 5"

oil on panel

Sun Over Lamoille River

6" x6"

We are having a good time painting together. Renee is a generous easy going person who is very focused on her painting. I am grateful to be having this good painting time.

Send snow........we need more snow!

They are all beautiful!

Thank you Laurie. Today it is snowing so I guess sometimes one can get what one asks for! Gosh Vermont is so quaint and pretty!

Hi Suzanne! I really enjoyed traveling with you. You are really painting well! I was really impressed how you could handle those cold conditions painting in snow!

He Renee! Start to finish it was a most excellent trip. There is no whining in winter plein air painting.......or any plein air painting for that matter! Thank you for inviting me.

Yikes! It is you asking that is causing the snow? You ARE powerful!

As is your painting, though I am seriously prejudiced in favor of water color, I'm afraid.
